A child’s first dental appointment should be made beginning at the age of one. As this becomes a regular outing, your child will develop good oral hygiene through the example and instruction of both the dentist, dental staff, and you. This helps to act as a preventative measure agains unhealthy teeth throughout the child’s life. Early pediatric dental care & prevention is the key to healthy teeth for many years to come. Daily brushing and flossing will prevent cavities and other dental problems between cleanings.
We provide in-office pediatric restorative treatment for your children’s teeth. Our services include options of nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and I.V. sedation with an anesthesiologist available. We have the equipment, facilities and experience necessary to restore and correct many pediatric dental needs from Logan to Layton.
Dr. Schweppe is able to provide hospital care or I.V. sedation in-office with anesthesia provided by a licensed anesthesiologist or anesthetist. This can be provided for children with extensive restorative treatment or the treatment of children that are unable to tolerate traditional in-office dental care methods. Our licensed anesthesiologist is a staff member at the following hospitals: Primary Children’s Medical Center, Mt. Ogden Surgical Center, McKay-Dee Hospital, Logan Regional Hospital, and Cache Valley Specialty Hospital.
